Rasstokyo (aka Tokyo the Producer) Releases Standout Debut EP “Dark White”

Rasstokyo - DARK WHITE cover

Rasstokyo aka. Tokyo The Producer is ready with his debut EP release called DARK WHITE. On Tokyo’s words ‘it sums up myself as a person (well almost), my mind is wild, I don’t have limits on the things I say, I’m an extrovert but nobody really knows me, my stories lay within the words that surface the sound’. Tokyo also wants everyone to realize that “idea is political it was more about taking a piss, to question peoples way of thinking. It’s not race thing. It’s about ethnic people exercising “white privilege.”

This tape is featured by YSN REMI, Kid Bracer, Lash Vanegro and Mekah, EPof work that only doesn’t present his style called ‘Water music’ but also howTokyo is being serious, challenging everyones way of thinking. But in his own funny way. PHAT and Hatton were both released during the fall, gaining support from several radio stations worldwide and editorials such as Mixmag, Dummy and RWD.

Over the years, Tokyo developed his lyricism and sound as a producer. To date he’s released singles and an EP including 2018’s collaborative project ‘The Joint Tape’ with close friend, fellow House Of Pharaohs members and Lash Vanegro, in addition to a slew of party-ready earworms, moody confessions, and bass-heavy bangers. Standouts like the hypnotically brazen ‘Swim’, a catchy victory lap ‘Stolen’, and the flute-laced, melodic ‘Finer Things’ reflect Tokyo’s ability to traverse sonic styles and show off inspiration from an array of influences, from Kid Cudi and Travis Scott to Coldplay and Adele.Tokyo spends countless hours in the studio, perfecting a sound he calls “water music” — music with mutable energy that flows, changes and adapts itself like the trickle of a stream. As a producer he works quickly. In a matter of minutes Tokyo can make a beat that bangs, twists and turns as 808s pound under piano melodies. The result is production that surprises and delights while clever, cheekily honest rhymes entertain.
