Ruby da Cherry of $UICIDEBOY$ Debuts Pop-Punk Project “Tragic Love Songs to Study to [vol. 5]”

Ruby Da Cherry, one-half of the renowned New Orleans duo $uicideboy$, introduces himself as DUCKBOY on his latest project, tragic love songs to study to [vol. 5], available now via G59 Record$. While continuing his work with $uicideboy$, Ruby simultaneously dives into the pop-punk arena as DUCKBOY, displaying his extensive musical range performing all vocals and instruments. The name DUCKBOY is a symbolism of “ducking” past life’s trials and distractions, and serves as a unique reflection of Ruby’s personal journey.

Combining the spirit of punk and the catchy appeal of pop, tragic love songs to study to [vol. 5] allowed Ruby a way of exploring new sounds and narratives, underlining his creativity and resilience. It’s a fresh perspective from Ruby, showcasing his versatility over energetic beats and introspective lyrics and not just skilled as a rapper, but as a multi-faceted artist. The new music is accompanied by lyric videos for the 4 songs on the project including the project’s focus track “ROUGAROU (i’ve become the monster)” inspired by the mythical creature from Louisiana folklore. Other tracks include ”XXL hadron collider,” “my love life needs a lobotomy,” and “after further reasoning, i’m going to bed.”

On August 25th, the $uicideboy$ will kick off their annual Grey Day Tour, which includes over 40 shows at arenas and amphitheaters across the country. Support acts on the tour dates include Ghostemane, City Morgue, Sematary, Ramirez and Freddie Dredd in select cities.
