Montréal singer and songwriter Noëlly Nsimba is stepping into the holiday season with a new release titled “Christmas Just Wouldn’t Be Christmas Without You.” Her birthday falls on December 26, also known as Boxing Day, and she arrived just thirty minutes after midnight. Her parents chose her name with the season in mind, so Christmas has always carried extra meaning for her. Recording a Christmas song felt like a natural next step.

The track is available now on all streaming platforms and has been delivered to radio programmers across North America and beyond. Producer Rox Capriotti, known for work with Shape of Water and Vivaldi Metal Project, created the backing track in Manchester. He sent it to Noëlly, who recorded her vocals at her home studio in Montréal.

Before music became her main focus, Noëlly spent years on the Women’s Pro Tennis Tour, competing internationally and in her native Canada. She balanced her athletic career with developing her voice as an artist. Although “Christmas Just Wouldn’t Be Christmas Without You” was written by Chris Maule, Noëlly and Capriotti shaped the final version to reflect her personality. She describes the process simply. “I wanted it to feel like me. I love Christmas. It is my favorite holiday, so I am very happy about this recording.”

Montreal itself provided inspiration. The city glows during the holidays with Christmas markets, festive lights, and frequent snowfall. Noëlly enjoys the season with church, family gatherings, and gift exchanges, which made recording a holiday track even more meaningful. She also shared how her young child Zyon influenced the moment. “I am excited to see Christmas through his eyes now that he is old enough to take everything in. Even when he was tiny, he followed the lights on the tree. This year will be even better with this song playing in the background.”

Alongside the Christmas release, Noëlly is also unveiling “True Love,” an original song she wrote during a very emotional period. The piece was inspired by the passing of her uncle André Lukombo, her father’s youngest brother, who died from pancreatic cancer. She wrote the song while in England as a way to express her aunt’s grief and her own. “When she heard it, I could sense the emotion in her voice. I realized the song had touched her the same way my uncle’s passing touched me.”

Both “True Love” and “Christmas Just Wouldn’t Be Christmas Without You” are available now on all streaming platforms.

Noëlly officially launched her music career last July when she performed “O Canada” to open the 2025 Canadian Women’s Open. She also released her rendition of the national anthem along with “4 De Love Tennis,” a tribute to the sport that shaped her early life. Those releases set the stage for this week’s offerings, and they show that Noëlly is entering this next chapter with confidence and creativity.
