Sam Blasucci Announces Double LP Physical Dream, Shares “Delicadeza” and Preps La Miel EP

Ojai, California-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Sam Blasucci has announced his fourth record and first double LP, Physical Dream, set for release on April 17 and available to pre-save now. Alongside the announcement, Blasucci has shared “Delicadeza,” a gentle, mixed-language single that highlights his nuanced songwriting and sonic range.

The arrival of Physical Dream is accompanied by the upcoming EP La Miel, due out February 27, featuring the guitar-driven track “CHANCEZ.” Blasucci describes the EP as “the honey to the largely wounded inner world of this record,” drawing inspiration from his time in Los Angeles, Mexico, and the mentors who shaped him in both places. “Soothing to the damaged throat & voice that we’re now just dusting off,” he notes, crediting friends and teachers in Coahuila, MX, and his Los Angeles roots for their influence.

This spring, Blasucci will bring his expansive new material to stages across Europe, the UK, and the U.S., with dates running from March through June.

Physical Dream is a sprawling, nonlinear project, holding 28 tracks that blur genre boundaries and move between cascading instrumentals, buoyant boogie rhythms, and poetic, groove-oriented arrangements. Recorded on a remote island in British Columbia, the album features a cast of collaborators including Mia Wilson (vocals), Randal Fisher (horns, flute), Andres Renteria (percussion), Laena Myers (violin, viola, vocals), and Leng Bian (harp). The record incorporates live field recordings—running water, night sounds, and audio from an anti-ICE protest—adding layers of romance, mysticism, and political resistance.

Blasucci describes the album as a culmination of years of inspiration, travels, and creative upheaval. “’Physical Dream’ seems like it was a seed that was planted so long ago. There are years of inspiration behind this album credited to so many places I’ve been and so many upheavals that shaped it into what ended up being my most sprawling collection of music I’ve made. I first imagined ‘Physical Dream’ while I was at Wi Spa in Los Angeles and envisioned it as a painting first.”

He continues, “I painted a few drafts of what I thought it could be and as the years went on and I continued to make demos in my living room, it slowly morphed itself into a scattered batch of all the creative influences I’ve felt in the last few years. It’s heavily revelatory of the shadow and more ‘below the horizon’ sides of myself.”

Delicadeza,” the album’s new single, embodies this spirit of escapism and romance. Blasucci calls it “a song with no shoes on,” a blueprint escape plan for lovers and a way to reach a higher place through soft resistance and surging energy. “I want there to exist a place almost like the afterlife within this life and that’s what I painted in my mind here.”

Known for his work with roots-rock group Mapache and praised for his versatility by outlets like KCRW and JamBase, Blasucci now steps into his most ambitious solo project yet. Physical Dream is due April 17, with “Delicadeza” and the La Miel EP offering a preview of what’s to come. Catch Sam Blasucci live across Europe, the UK, and the U.S. this spring and summer.
