Audiences are set for a cinematic thrill ride this summer as new science fiction film Interval debuts. A collaborative project from Williams & Company, Studio Zero Media, MadWerkz Studios, and the iFilm program, Interval is more than just a movie—it’s a cultural moment. The Interval movie will screen on June 22, 2025, during a “Juneteenth Celebration of Afrofuturism,” ahead of its full theatrical release in August.
At 90 minutes long, Interval is a pulse-pounding, time-bending adventure that follows a squad of time-traveling law enforcers tasked with stopping serial killers before their crimes unfold. Directed and written by Marquette Williams, the film explores the human consequences of choices made across timelines.
“Interval is a story about the choices we make and how those choices impact not only our past but our future. We wanted to create a film that not only pushes the boundaries of science fiction but also resonates on a deeply personal level with our audience. Afrofuturism is the frontier of storytelling. We wanted to show our students how this genre allows for more expression in terms of storytelling and character development.” – Marquette Williams, director
Part of a unique feature film workshop through the workforce development program iFilm, Interval is also a testament to the power of hands-on creative education. The movie’s visuals come to life through the lens of director of photography Joddy Eric Matthews and an all-female camera team—an intentional choice that reflects the film’s inclusive, future-forward ethos.
The cast includes Robert Bray, Ginny Williams, and Jermie Burge, whose performances bring emotional gravity to this genre-blending story. With visual effects by MadWerkz Studios and an immersive score, Interval presents a multi-sensory experience that redefines what a sci-fi film can be.
