Blake Symphony has spent much of his creative life thinking about how to build worlds through sound. Now, with the release of nomad 2: Megajet, the St. Louis-born music producer is bringing that philosophy into focus through a project inspired by travel, work, culture, and the idea that nowhere has to be a permanent home.
Blake Symphony began making music at 16 after hearing Timbaland’s production on Aaliyah’s “Are You That Somebody.” The experience activated what he describes as his “beat brain,” and receiving FL Studio, then known as Fruityloops, gave him the tools to begin exploring production for himself.
Michael Jackson, Timbaland, The Neptunes, and Kanye West became foundational influences. Yet Blake Symphony’s goal has never been simply to reproduce the sounds of the artists who inspired him. His own description of his musical approach offers a better explanation: “Like an Anime or Video game you wanna live in.”
That immersive quality is central to nomad 2: Megajet.
The album is rooted in Blake Symphony’s fascination with work travel and the philosophy of constantly moving toward a new place, a new environment, or a new purpose. Rather than treating travel simply as a physical journey, nomad 2: Megajet approaches movement as a state of mind.
The album also reflects Blake Symphony’s connection to St. Louis. The city remains a foundational part of his identity, and the project features multiple artists from his hometown.
“St. Louis is the motherland for me, I never wanted to lose touch with the city or the people in the city that mean the most to me, I have a lot more plans for my hometown. This is just the tip of iceberg. We are so full of talent, not just with music, but in several different fields in industries, There is a lot more work to be done!”
One of those St. Louis connections is Tef Poe, an artist Blake has known for roughly 15 or 16 years. Their creative relationship stretches back to records including “Active,” and nomad 2: Megajet gave Blake an opportunity to reconnect with the energy he always appreciated in Tef Poe’s music.
“For this album, I decided that I needed a wrap up tempo that still had an electronic energy and we agreed that this is the time to let it free!”
The album’s featured artists help give nomad 2: Megajet a sense of movement and variety while maintaining Blake Symphony’s production-driven identity.
That same philosophy extends beyond the music. Blake Symphony is also the founder of Nomad World Citizen, a streetwear brand launched in 2020 and built around global influence, travel, cultural exchange, and creative expression. The clothing and music are increasingly becoming two sides of the same creative universe.
