“You put all your ideas into your first two records because you have your whole lifetime to plan for them? Well, that’s how it is now. I’ve not had so much time where I just get to imagine and plan, and embrace boredom.”
Questlove
Questlove joins award-winning guitarist/producer Eric Krasno on his special new podcast series. Presented by Osiris Media, ERIC KRASNO PLUS ONE sees the renowned musician hosting a one-of-a-kind interview series exploring the lives and work of some of his closest friends and musical collaborators.
In episode 12 of Eric Krasno Plus One, Eric continues his wide ranging conversation with Questlove, who joins Eric from his home in upstate New York. They talk about the jam sessions at his house that became the epicenter of the Neo Soul movement, the infamous Source awards show in ‘95 that led Questlove to D’Angelo, that time Jimmy Fallon disarmed The Roots, and what he thinks is on the other side of the COVID-19 crisis.
The episode ends with the track “Send It On” from the D’Angelo album Voodoo.
